10 Games That Could Really Use A Remaster Update

There's a lot of classic games that have not received a modernization of any sort. Studios like Nightdive Studios has been a savior for a lot of classic 90s shooters with some of the best retro remastering you could ask for. Sony has been pushing more retro releases with their PlayStation 4 and 5 over the past few years along with Nintendo on the Switch. Microsoft has also put out a handful of retro classics but has recently ceased to continue down this path outside of the PC excluding the re-release of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition on Xbox.

Unlike a remake, remasters keep the game as close to the original game as possible with old school graphics and sounds that are touched up slightly for modern systems but quality of life improvements that keep new-comers from throwing their hands up in frustration. Some of those improvements also include achievements and trophies which are great for people who want to show off their competition with a friend. Another improvement is overall leaderboards for speedrunners and overall arcade junkies.

Sadly, there's a lot of old games that are mostly forgotten due to hardware and we're hoping this list will help jog people's memories and head to social media to beg for someone to get their licenses for retro games and make them great again.

10. Outlaws

Outlaws is a classic first-person shooter game developed by LucasArts and released in 1997. The game combines elements of both western-themed adventure games and first-person shooters. The game's levels contain a variety of puzzles and other obstacles which must be overcome, such as avoiding traps or pushing boulders. The game also contains a variety of weapons and items, including a lasso, dynamite, and a bow and arrow. Outlaws's story is further advanced by cutscenes, which feature the game's characters and their interactions.

Outlaws is a classic game that is often praised for its immersive atmosphere and engaging story. Its combination of western-themed adventure and first-person shooter elements create a unique and enjoyable experience. The game's visuals are also praised for their detail and vibrant colors.
